My Story...

Who is Megan Hamlin?  What is My story....

Last year I was having some hard months.  Ryan and I have been married for 13 years.  I love this man more and more every day.  He is truly my rock.  He is the most patient man.  We have had our up & downs over the years.  But there is one thing that has always been solid over the years... Ryan.
My children Wyatt & Emma are my joy & encouragement.  There smiles & hugs make my days happy!  They keep me going.  I LOVE MY FAMILY.

May 2013 I started feeling something changing inside me... I felt different.  I couldn't explain it.  I had a short fuse, I was unhappy with everything and anyone.  The kids annoyed me, Ryan annoyed me, my friends annoyed me, strangers annoyed me.  When Ryan would ask me what was up... I would just explain it as "a funk" and I had no idea of "how" to fix it or get out of it.   I actually just decided in my own head that it was related to hysterectomy from May 2011.

In August 2013 I tweaked my back & started seeing a chiropractor (a friend of mine).  During my session we would chat about life and issues, so one day I opened up to her about how I was feeling with my body and my short fuse.  I was having a bad day... I really was at the end of my rope.  I could see it was starting to hurt my relationships.  I hated the person I was becoming.  She said she had a dr. referral she could give me.  She tough he could help me.  I figured what could it hurt.   So I called his office and made an appt. for Wednesday October 16th.

That was the start of my new life.  This Dr. was truly am amazing man.  He spent 2 hours in  a room listening and asking a ton of questions.  He got to know MEGAN.  He did the best medical history ever.  I went into the appt. expecting him to ask 2 question and write a Rx and send me on my way.  NOPE... he was there to HELP me find out what was really causing the problem.  He did a full physical Exam, ultrasound of my Thyroid, and ordered and FULL blood panel.  I mean a FULL blood panel.  When I went to have my blood drawn I was afraid I didn't have any left.  This type of blood panel allowed for the dr. to actual see what was going on inside my body.  Most dr.'s wont order these because they are expensive.  The combination of the Exam, ultrasound, and blood work was able to tell the Dr.  that I have Hashimoto's Disease.  My Thyroid stopped functioning somewhere between 8-10 years ago.  My disease is not a thyroid disease... it is an autoimmune disease in which your immune system attacks your thyroid.

So, the big question...
